On September 11, 2026, we invite you to gather in Downtown Greenville to mark the 25th anniversary of one of the most tragic days in our nation’s history.

The 9/11 25th Anniversary Memorial Service will begin at 10:28 AM CST. Together, we will pause to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders and countless heroes who answered the call, and reflect on a day that forever changed our nation.

This solemn memorial service will include the Presentation of Colors, Honor Guards, the National Anthem, and remarks from officials including:

·       Muhlenberg County Judge-Executive Mack McGehee

·       Greenville Mayor Ed DeArmond

·       Central City Mayor Malcolm West

·       Greenville Fire Chief Lee Williams

·       Greenville Police Chief Darren Harvey

·       Pastor Curtis McGehee

Following the ceremony, attendees are encouraged to visit the 9/11 Memorial Flag Display located near the Summer House. The display features a flag placed in remembrance of each victim whose life was lost on September 11, 2001. Together, the thousands of flags serve as a powerful visual reminder of the tremendous loss our nation experienced and the individual lives behind that number.

The public is encouraged to attend and join us as we stand together as a community in remembrance.

Please note that the street in the immediate area of the ceremony will be closed for approximately one hour while the memorial service is taking place. We appreciate the public's patience and cooperation as we provide a quiet and respectful setting for the ceremony.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives that were taken, the families forever changed, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the unity our nation found in the days that followed.
