William Graham Duncan, Owner of The Duncan Coal Company, built this historic home located on the corner of Cherry Street in 1912 for $10,000. The home was donated to the city of Greenville in 1989 by Hamilton R. Duncan, Sr. and became the Duncan Center Museum and Art Gallery. It is a beauty to behold with its Spanish mission style design and red tiled roof. Great detail was given to every aspect of the home which today, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The art gallery showcases work from local artisans as well as works from all over and features a rotating exhibit schedule so you will always see something new! The Duncan Center is also home to W.G. Duncan Coal Company Museum. The museum contains a wealth of coal history in equipment, pictures, books, documents, ledgers and much more.

January 9th - March 1st: Civil War Exhibit "My Brother, My Enemy"
The Duncan Center along with exhibit sponsors the Greenville Tourism Commission and the Pogue Automotive Group are honored to have a very special Civil War exhbit coming right here to Greenville! The exhibit "My Brother, My Enemy" is on loan from the Frazier History Museum in Louisville, Kentucky. This is a special exhibit that explores Kentucky's Civil War connections. Unlike many other Civil War exhibitions that tend to focus on battlefield chronology, this 15 panel exhibit delves into the heart wrenching and personal stories of the nationwide conflict that forever severed once close-knit relationships throughout Kentucky. The exhibit features more than a dozen artifacts including weapons, cutlery, photographs and jewelry. The exhibit can be viewed Monday - Friday from 11:00AM - 4:00PM or by appointment. Admission is FREE as always. For additional information or to schedule a class trip contact the Duncan Center at 270-338-2605 or by email at duncan.museum@gmail.com. Muhlenberg County Courthouse

Main Street
Greenville, KY 42345

The current Muhlenberg County courthouse is the fourth since the county's inception in 1798. It was built in 1907 and designed by the Louisville architectural firm Kenneth McDonald and William J. Dodd with Bailey and Koerner acting as the contractors. It is truly one of the most beautiful in the state and is a very elaborate example of the classical Beaux-Arts style. The courthouse is a two-story, brick structure fronted by a two-story, Corinthian order portico with an equally spectacular cupola.  It underwent major renovations in 1975 and is currently under going a second major renovation. Renovations are expected to be completed by the end of summer in 2010 and it will be completely restored inside and out! It happens to be the second largest clock/tower dome in the state and is the crowning jewel of downtown Greenville.
