The documentary was fully funded by the Greenville Tourism Commission and was the second highest cost investment the Commission has made since their inception. From a tourism perspective, the making and airing of these films are intended to increase the state-wide awareness and interest in Greenville. Jamie Wells, president of the GTC states “our strategy is to get Greenville’s story aired across KY so to create a curiosity and interest that will result in our fellow Kentuckians desiring to drive to Greenville and visit us, our restaurants, our inns, our businesses, etc…” Additionally, the GTC sees the DVDs of the films as educational tools for local school assemblies, physician recruiting tools for our community hospital, recruitment tools for economic development efforts and priceless digital preservation of our city’s history and current events.
