Muhlenberg County Airport

The Muhlenberg County airport is conveniently located within the Greenville city limits. A new 4,000 sq. ft. terminal building was just recently built in 2008. The airport has an asphalt runway that is 75 ft wide and 5000 ft long with a partial parallel taxiway. The load limit is 36,000 lbs. and can be accessed by a variety of aircraft including lear jets, citations, challengers and king air just to name a few. Avgas and Jet A fuel are available as well as a courtesy car and high speed internet.

The Greater Muhlenberg Chamber of Commerce was formed on January 1st, 2006 by joining the Greenville and Central City Chambers of Commerce. Their mission is to develop, enhance and maintain a viable business climate in Muhlenberg County and to provide leadership for economic growth, educational development and a better quality of life. They currently boast over 200 members and meetings are held regularly on the 2nd Thursday of the month at noon.

Wendell H. Ford Regional Training Center
The Wendell H. Ford Regional Training Center also known as the “wet site” is the premiere training facility of the National Guard east of the Mississippi river. This facility is funded by the Department of Defense and was founded in 1969 and currently covers of 11,000 acres of land. The state of the art training facility is capable of supporting 1400 soldiers in quarters and several thousand in hardened bivouac sites and is a 7 day 24 hour operation. This multi-agency support operation trains military, police agencies, corrections, FBI, Air Force, etc… This facility is also host to the 238th Calvalry Regiment, Kentucky National Guard Officer Candidate Program and the 1163rd Medical Company. It has the latest in simulation training devices, live rifle and pistol ranges, military operations in urban terrain sites, a land navigation course, leader reaction course and confidence course.
